December #YogaEveryDamnDay Challenge






This was the best month of my challenge yet. And not because I kicked all the ass with nailing my postures. In fact, most of their forms have gone to utter crap. It was the best month, because all my consistency with my practice finally paid off.

I had my baby! And Yoga helped!

Day 246: Half Moon Pose-Ardha Chandrasana.

Day 248: Tree Pose-Vrksasana.



Day 249: Standing Half Bow Balance-Utthita Ardha Dhanurasana.

250 DAYS OF YOGA!!!



Day 250: Raised Leg Downward Facing Dog Pose-Eka Pada Adho Mukha Svanasana.



Day 251: Tripod Balance/Clown Pose-Sirsasana Dwi (2) prep.



Day 252: Inclined Plane Posture-Vasisthasana.


Day 253: One-Handed Tiger Pose-Eka Hasta Vyaghrasana.



Day 254: Seated Spinal Twist/Half Lord of the Fishes Pose-Ardha Matsyendrasana.

Day 255: Bound Angle Pose/Butterfly Pose-Baddha Konasana.



Day 256: Squat Pose-Malasana.



Day 257: Seated Staff Posture-Dandasana.

40 Weeks pregnant and still touching my toes!!!



Day 258: Double Leg Forward Stretch (Modified…obviously)-Paschimottanasana.

It was a wonderful year of Yoga for me, even despite being pregnant for 3/4 of it.

I very much so am looking forward to deepening my Yoga practice in 2016.

This month, I made it a couple days shy of 41 weeks pregnant. I did Yoga up until a couple days before having our beautiful baby boy. And I did some Yoga during my Labor…it really came in handy. I had to do a lot of squats and a modified version of Warrior 2 pose to try aiding Cedar's descent down my birth canal.


My Midwife is shown here squeezing my hips together to help him along as well. It actually felt really good and helped diminish the contraction pain.

I was using Frankincense during my Yoga practice up until I had Cedar, but during my birth, I diffused a whole lot of the “Labor Diffusing Blend” that I made. It consisted of Frankincense, Lavender, and Ylang Ylang. My beautiful daughter also applied a lot of Clary Sage on me while I was laboring. It helped move things along*.


I really DO love my Young Living Essential Oils...and I don’t know where I’d be without them. I try to incorporate a different oil(s) every month into my practice…and they came in hella handy for my RV Homebirth. I am still enjoying this challenge…even if I can’t do it every single day anymore. Pregnancy is NOT a sickness. It is simply a variation of normal. Rest assured though, my Midwife is 100% up-to-date on all the poses I’m doing, and has continued to give me the green light to continue my practice…with some exceptions and modifications thrown in here and there.
