Farewell Favorite Month

October is absolutely, without-a-doubt, hands down, my favorite month. There’s just something about October. The trees are turning brilliant shades of yellow (around here). The air is more brisk. You finally get to bundle up in that new cozy sweater and moccasin boots. Chai teas all around! Pumpkin carving….and all things spooky! Binge watching movies like The Addams Family, Edward Scissorhands, Practical Magic, Nightmare Before Christmas & Sleepy Hollow. Samhain (Halloween) is my most loved Sabbat (holiday). People start to slow down a little, as do I, and I become more introspective. It’s a good month.

This year, October was even more special. As the time for giving birth draws nearer, we tackled a bunch of projects in preparation for the big event…and in preparation for Winter. We put the final touches on our bedroom remodel, the girls’ decorating scheme, and then installed a new water heater. We’re sick of 5-minute showers AND we’re gonna need an endless supply (or at least more than 6 gallons) of hot water for when it’s time to water birth…YES. HERE IN THE RV!

After doing nearly a year of research, we purchased the Precision Temp RV-550 (RV specific…not a house/residential one), 4-season, tankless water heater. You can check out that post, including links to the water heater HERE. After using it for a month now (today: 11-15-15) AND doing a test run with the birthing tub (today), it is endlessly marvelous.

I mentioned our bedroom remodel. Yes, we wrapped that up earlier this month. I am so completely IN LOVE with how it turned out. Although I dreamed up the all-white everything…with small pops of color here and there, my Husband, as usual, brought my vision to life…AND SOME. He’s incredible! To see all 8 posts of that amazing transformation, you can begin HERE. The other 7 posts are listed at the end of that one and each remodel post thereafter. To see the end result, click HERE.

Toward the middle of the month, once the new water heater was installed, it was time for us to hit the Winter-readying process hard. A LOT went into that, and we still have a couple loose ends to wrap up, but for the most part, we are ready to stare Winter down. You can read about that thorough process HERE.

This was after our “first snow”. It was more of a dusting, but it definitely got chilly. The RV stayed super warm though! AND, more importantly, none of our lines or tanks froze. That’s the most critical. Mission accomplished.

The wee ones and their shenanigans.

Just a couple quick pics of my dreads. They are 15 months old as of October 30th! Time sure has flown by, and I think they’re starting to look better. A lot of the bumps are starting to round out…finally. Pay no mind to my wild pirate makeup for Halloween, lol!

 Oct 2015 ER Order

This month's Young Living Essential Rewards order was about $200. I know…that’s a LOT. I usually don’t spend that much, but this month I wanted to take advantage of the deal to get free oils, and I earned about $30 back (15% earnings rate) for future orders! I restocked 3 types of my samples to share with YOU (contact me if you’d like to give them a try…they aren’t pictured here) & got 15mL bottles of Clary Sage, Myrtle, & Myrrh (all 3 are for my birth), as well as 5mL bottles of Envision and Peace & Calming…which is now BACK IN STOCK!!! Peace & Calming is an INCREDIBLY popular blend, and is hard to keep around. It really does live up to its namesake.

By ordering all of this, I received FREE bottles of Thieves and Clove. Thieves is absolutely THE OIL you want to have around during this sicky time of year. It boosts the immune system AND helps fend off the yuckies if you catch them. Clove is just plain fabulous for diffusing to achieve that fall-like aroma, or great if you have occasional tooth pain.* I even make some homemade oil-pulling, coconut oil chews with a drop of Clove in them for my oral hygiene. It helps to freshen the breath, pull toxins from the body (the coconut oil), and aids in boosting your oral health. If you don’t know what the benefits of oil-pulling are, do a quick Google search and you’ll be amazed by what you learn!

Another reason why their Essential Rewards-autoship program is so amazing (aside from getting free oils, discounted shipping, and potentially making some $), is earning BACK money every time you spend! For the first 6 months in the program, you will earn back 10% on your Essential Rewards order. The next 6 months, you will earn back 15%. Beginning in that 13th month, and forevermore (as long as you remain a member), you will earn the full 20% back  on all ER orders. So basically, it’s a win-win. I’m gonna be spending the money anyways…so I might as well get some back to apply to future purchases. And that is EXACTLY what I did this month. A quick side note, you are not obligated to stick with the program indefinitely. You are free to join/quit/join, whenever you like. Just be sure to spend your earnings before you quit! You will have to start back over with your earnings though, when you rejoin. If you don’t want to quit forever, you ARE allowed one skip month per year.

You are absolutely allowed to spend your earnings each month if you’d like, but for myself, they aren’t crazy high, so I have opted to let them accumulate over the course of this past year. By the time I was ready to cash them in this month, I had almost $200 to spend!!! Cue happy dance!

I ordered DiGize (my favorite oil for digestive issues…I wouldn’t have been able to get through this pregnancy without it), Frankincense (a rather expensive, but incredibly multi-purpose oil), PanAway (for all your “pans”)…fabulous for post-Yoga, post-workout aches and such, and Lavender (the MOST used oil in this house…especially by my girls). Lavender is great for bedtime and boo-boos…among about a million other things.

I would like to leave this here for you. October may be over, but Autumn isn’t! These are still some FABULOUS aromas to diffuse throughout your home during this time of year. They would be perfect during Thanksgiving as well!

Halloween Diffuser Recipes 2015

I am Wiccan. This Sabbat (holiday) is my “New Year”-so to speak. It is a time for reflection and new beginnings. However, Samhain, more importantly, is a time for honoring one’s ancestors. We take the time to remember our loved ones that have passed on before us. It is said, that this is the time of year when the veil between our physical world, and the spirit world, is at its thinnest. The spirits can walk the Earth alongside us. So we pay homage to our loved ones that have passed on, and remember all the good times we had with them.

This is where the tradition of dressing up in costumes originated. A long time ago, our ancestors believed that as the Spirits walked the Earth on this night…not all were friendly. So they would wear masks to deceive the spirits. They would carve turnips and gourds into scary faces, and leave them on their doorsteps, to deter the malevolent spirits from entering their homes (thus the origins of pumpkin carving). It is a fascinating subject to learn more about, if you’re ever interested.

We dressed up as: Nic-Zombie, Myself-Pregnant Pirate, Monster High Girl-Darth Vader, and Cinderella-Scooby Doo. We had a great time trick-or-treating in a couple neighborhoods. The girls got just enough candy to appease them, and we headed home a couple hours later…ready to load up on sugar and crash for the night. You can read that post HERE…or click on the picture below. I wanted to do my annual Samhain ritual at midnight, after everyone went to bed, but my pregnancy exhaustion kicked in, and I passed out LONG before that time.

October #YogaEveryDamnDay Challenge

As always, HERE is my monthly Yoga Challenge post. Although I accomplished 31 days of Yoga this month, I’m seriously starting to suffer from pregnancy-caused SPD, as this pregnancy comes to a close. It is beginning to affect my Yoga practice as well, and I foresee myself slowing down a LOT for these remaining few weeks. I hope to still bust some poses out from time to time, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Most poses are already out of the question for me. Pretty much the only ones that DON’T hurt these days, are backbends…and inversions…but I’m not longer allowed to do inversions. Wish me luck! My practice has already been so inhibited by this pregnancy…this is just icing on the cake. But it’s well worth it!!!

Speaking of the little bugger, here are this month’s weekly transition photos. We’re growing larger everyday…Baby Boho and I.

I’ve had a couple appointments this month. My blood work came back wonderful, the Baby is doing great, and I am healthy, so all is well.

That’s a wrap on my favorite month. As you can see, life is progressing along splendidly up here in these gorgeous Rocky Mountains. We are officially ready for Winter and *almost* ready for Baby Boho to finally make their appearance. On that note, what do you think Baby Boho will be?

Girl or Boy?

As always, thanks for reading! We look forward to sharing our birth story with you very soon!
