As Summer Draws To A Close…

Aug Full Moon

We had a pretty jam-packed month this August! We squeezed in a spontaneous road trip to Texas, a Colorado cabin getaway, the Tiny House Jamboree, my monthly daily Yoga challenge, school kicking up again and oh yea…my growing a baby…and the ultrasounds to prove it! I’m gonna make this more of a review-ish type of post with links to those other posts I did. Otherwise, I’ll be writing for days.

You can read about our surprise visit to Mom in Texas, HERE. That was the first weekend of the month.

The second weekend of the month brought with it the Tiny House Jamboree. Those tiny homes were absolutely adorable…AND quite cleverly designed, but I’ll stick with my RV. I love it even more. We really enjoyed seeing them being built in person, walking through a few of them, the VEGAN FOOD TRUCK and I fell in love with the Yurt. If we ever settle down somewhere…I so hope it’s into a Yurt!

These ladies travel the U.S. doing workshops for only women that want to learn how to build their own Tiny Home!

And my absolute favorite Tiny Home…the Yurt. I want one!!!

I was too wrapped up in checking it out, to remember to take my own pics…so these next two are taken from their website.

On the way home, we were treated to this delight. I love Garden of the Gods.

Have you joined Young Living's Essential Rewards program yet? I earned $50 back on this order! If you're gonna spend the $, you might as well get some back, right?

For August, I placed a 205pv order. That earned me $30 back (at my 15% rate) + $20 more (special August promo), for a total of $50 back in earnings to apply towards future orders! I also got TWO FREE OILS! Peppermint-15mL & Basil-5mL.

I gave their newly released Dish Soap & Laundry Detergent a try...which I absolutely LOVE. AND, I got a bunch of oils to add to my collection, to use during my homebirth. I also bought some more samples to share with YOU!

I love saving money while still getting awesome stuff!

Oils this month were:
~Tsuga-has a fresh, clean scent. The oil is distilled from the needles and twigs of conifer trees. The bark from these trees was used by Native Americans to make poultices.
~Dill-has a spicy, fresh scent that is stimulating, revitalizing, and balancing. Use dill essential oil for cooking or preparing food to enhance flavor.
~Elemi-has a spicy, incense-like scent that is soft and somewhat balsamic. A member of the same botanical family as frankincense and myrrh, it has been used traditionally in Europe for the skin. Elemi is highly regarded for reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles, skin support, and for soothing muscles after exercise.*
~Pine-has a refreshing, invigorating aroma. First investigated by Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine, pine is soothing for stressed muscles and joints when used in massage. It shares many of the same properties as Eucalyptus Globulus, and the action of both oils is enhanced when they are blended.*
~Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia)-helps maintain a healthy-looking scalp and hair, and reduces the appearance of blemishes. Apply to feet and toenails when needed. (It works wonders for Dreadheads!!!)
~Eucalyptus Globulus-has a fresh, penetrating scent. It contains a high percentage of the constituent eucalyptol, a key ingredient in many mouth rinses. Applied topically, it is often used to support the respiratory system* and to soothe muscles after exercise.
~Tangerine-helps support a healthy lifestyle regimen*. This oil adds a bright, citrus flavor to foods and water and is a savory complement to many meats marinades, side dishes, and dressings.

~Peppermint-is one of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for supporting normal digestion, including promoting healthy intestinal function and gastrointestinal system comfort.*
~Basil-has a strong, spicy aroma that is invigorating to the spirit, bringing a sense of balance and calms the mind. This great oil is one of the oils included in Young Living Raindrop Technique.

There was a point this month, when we almost gave up on the RV. We were starting to worry about the upcoming costs of keeping her safe and habitable for the Winter…an endless water heater, heat taping and insulating everything (inside and out)…it was starting to become a daunting task. But just when we were about to throw in the towel, we went outside for a break and saw this…

Hope Rainbow

Hope isn’t ready for us to give up on her just yet. And so we said ok and carried on.

We will have quite a bit to do next month to get her ready for Winter time…but we are looking forward to it.

HERE is the [Not] Back to School blog post I did. I included an extensive list of links for ALL the curriculum and materials we use.

And to wrap up the month, I’ll leave you with this…the 4 weeks this month my pregnancy progressed. I had an ultrasound done in the middle of the month. Baby Boho is perfectly healthy and growing marvelously. I am doing fabulous as well. We declined wanting to know the gender…and since this is our last Ultrasound (in theory), we won’t find the gender out at any point. Since everything and everyone is doing great, we have been given the green light to follow through with our RV Home Waterbirth!!! This will be our 2nd Home Waterbirth, but our 1st in an RV. We are really excited! I will include a couple ultrasound pics as well…for your viewing pleasure. Baby Boho is 22 weeks old in them. I’m really excited for my friend doing my maternity photo shoot next month! Stay tuned for that! Those pictures are gonna be amazing! Her work is incredible!!!
