July #YogaEveryDamnDay Challenge

Hello my lovelies! I have been having a pretty darn good month…especially with my Yoga practice. I hope yours went equally as well, if not better! My pregnancy is progressing marvelously. I can happily report that I don’t even feel pregnant yet…knock on wood. The baby is growing perfectly, I haven’t had any complications, concerns or complaints, and I am trying my best to maintain my strength, balance and flexibility. I honestly think I owe about 45% of my feeling awesome to keeping up with my Yoga…45% to eating healthy (Yes, I’m maintaining my Vegan ways), and the other 10% to my oils!!!

Along with celebrating my 10th year married (11 years together) to my wonderful Husband, I also turned 30 years old this month! I am truly thrilled to be finally done with my 20’s. I am really looking forward to seeing what my 30’s will bring me. Every year I learn more and more, and it benefits not only my health, but my happiness as well. Here’s to the next 10 years!!!

I had never gone from Mermaid to King Pigeon before, so I figured I would attempt it & I did it!

AND…I did it PREGNANT, no less!

Day 167: Chair Pose-Utkatasana.

I have been incorporating my Essential Oils into my Yoga and Meditation practice, and since doing so, it has turned my Yoga practice upside down. Sometimes even literally. This month, my oils gave me the courage to tackle a more challenging pose that I have been too scared to try in the past…King Pigeon (see Day 157). I have been practicing Yoga for over 6 years. In all that time, I have never gotten up the courage to try some of the more difficult…and downright scarier looking poses. I really do attribute my newfound inner strength, focus, mental balance & bravery to my Young Living Essential Oils. I try to incorporate a different oil(s) every month into my practice.

This month, I gave “Awaken” a try. I put a drop on my 3rd-Eye to hopefully awaken my inner fearless spirit. And judging by my ability to break free of the restraints holding me back from trying King Pigeon…I’d say it was a success!!! This may not seem like a big deal to you guys, but to me, it was MONUMENTAL. I have been wanting to try this pose for well over a couple years now…but I have always been too hesitant and nervous to give it a shot. Not anymore though!

I am still enjoying this challenge and have no intentions of stopping anytime soon...slowing down perhaps, but not stopping. Pregnancy is NOT a sickness. It is simply a variation of normal. Rest assured though, my Midwife is 100% up-to-date on all the poses I’m doing, and has continued to give me the green light to continue my practice…with some exceptions and modifications thrown in here and there.
