January #YogaEveryDamnDay Challenge

Last year, I joined Instagram in February and was a little bummed when I saw a lot of my favorite Yogis and Yoginis were already 6 weeks into a Yoga Every Day Challenge. THIS year, I was on the ball and got started right off the bat. It’s not a specific challenge, the challenge is just to do Yoga Every. Single. Day. I have decided to take it a step further, by attempting to do a DIFFERENT pose everyday for 365 days. I’m not sure if that’ll be possible for me, but I sure plan on trying my hardest. Here’s January’s 31 poses…

January Yoga Collage

Day 1: Standing Half Bow Balance-Utthita Ardha Dhanurasana.


Day 2: Bow Pose-Dhanurasana.


Day 3: One-Handed Tiger Pose-Eka Hasta Vyaghrasana.


Day 4: Tree Pose-Vrksasana.


Day 5: Reverse Warrior 2 Pose-Viparita Virabhadrasana II.


Day 6: Camel Pose-Ustrasana.


Day 7: Crescent Pose-Anjaneyasana.


Day 8: Warrior 3 Pose-Virabhadrasana III.


Day 9: Locust Pose-Salabhasana.


Day 10: Cat & Cow Pose- Marjaisana & Bitilasana.


Day 11: Cow Posture-Gomukhasana.


Day 12: Wide Leg Forward Bend-Prasarita Padottanasana.


Day 13: Scorpion Pose (Elbow/Forearm Balance)-Pincha Mayurasana.

This was my first time EVER attempting this pose. It was my eldest daughter’s 9th birthday, and I wanted to show her that sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone is a good thing. She was more proud of me than I was…and that’s saying something. It’s still quite a work in progress, but I was surprised that I even got THIS far!

Day 17: Mermaid Pose-Eka Pada Raja Kapotasna.


Day 18: Wheel/Backbend/Upward Facing Bow Pose-Urdhva Dhanurasana.


Day 19: Revolved Head to Knee Pose-Parivrtta Janu Sirsasana.


Day 20: East Stretch Posture-Purvottanasana.


Day 21: Fish Pose-Matsyasana.


Day 22: Chair Pose-Utkatasana.


Day 23: Gate Pose-Parighasana.


Day 24: Hare Pose-Sasankasana.


Day 25: Bridge Pose-Setu Bandhasana.


Day 26: Single Leg Swan Balance-Eka Pada Hamsa Parsvottanasana.


Day 27: Reclining Hero Pose-Supta Virasana.


Day 28: Half Moon Pose-Ardha Chandrasana.


Day 29: Downward Facing Dog Pose-Adho Mukha Svanasana.


Day 30: Extended Hand to Big Toe Pose-Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana.


Day 31: Lotus Posture-Padmasana.
