This was on Sunday before I picked the girls up from spending the night at my Mom’s home.
This is my Father-in-law and my Mom…not sure why I can’t find a pic with my Mother-in-law and I???
I have the greatest parents (in-laws included!) in the world. I am definitely a very lucky girl to be so blessed to have them...
…and our girls are super lucky to have them for Grandparents!
Today is the day that we head back home…no one wants to go, but duty calls.
We were really happy and blessed that we were able to see everyone.
It’s always a sad day when we have to say “See ya next time”…
…but that sure didn’t stop Papoo from having a bit more fun with his girls before we headed out though!
Smile Ma. We’ll be back.
Pip even stopped by to bid us farewell.
So many somber faces. :-(
We loaded up the girls and Mojo, secured our belongings from storage in the back of the truck (that’s what we did nearly all day yesterday…thinned out our storage unit a bit more) and waved goodbye to Nonnie, Papoo and Pip. Although we always feel blessed when we get the chance to come up and visit everyone, the leaving everyone part never gets easy. Ever.
I occupy myself by taking pictures of the scenery. It helps to ease the homesickness.
After all, if we have to leave our loved ones behind, the least we can do is enjoy the ride.
I will not be altering the photos I took on the way home in any way, other than to crop and resize for your viewing pleasure.
And since I didn’t really take any 1-month Dreadiversary pics 2 days ago…I’ll make up for it now.
It’s hard to believe they’re already a month old! The time has really flown by.
I figured since I was stuck in the truck for hours, it would be a good time to do a little bit of maintenance on them as well.
I separated all 95 of them…and found out I have 97 now, and I dreaded the ends more.
The tips are still wispy though…I didn’t blunt them.
The girls, having a very late bedtime last night, slept the majority of the drive home.
MHG did really well and wasn’t car sick this time at all. (She was on our last trip home from Colorado in July.)
And then she passed back out.
My zombie Husband driving us back home from our spontaneous whirlwind vacation, and my dread ends are dreaded more now.
Just in time to hit Wolf Creek Pass. Now, I take pictures like a tourist.
You’ve been warned.
This is a far prettier drive than our drive TO the Springs. We don’t take Wolf Creek Pass there. But we always take it home.
And it never gets any less breathtaking.
(Sure wish I was nestled in the mountains at THIS RV park! Lucky!)
…and coming out.
There are no words to explain the peace that overcomes me when I’m in the mountains.
Tell me this doesn’t take your breath away.
This is my hands down, absolute favorite photograph I took on our trip back.
I need to live down right next to that lake.
I love you Colorado. You are so beautiful and welcoming, too!
When I see this off in the distance I know we’re almost home.
Pretty sure it’s called Chimney rock…but well, I’ll just say I don’t think it resembles a chimney very much…lol.
Home Sweet Home.
We all pretty much walked in and collapsed (after we unloaded the truck).
Thank you to everyone that made our quick little vacation super special.
We love you all so very much and are already looking forward to seeing you again soon!
(Feel free to come see us next!)
