Charting A New Course

Welcome to my blog. This will be the one where I blog all things Hobo. My family and I have decided to embark upon a journey. This will be a journey of self-discovery, bonding and adventure. My husband's job takes him out of state for work all the time and we are all tired of being separated from him. One day 2 months into his absence, I joked that we should buy an RV to be together always. Two months after that, he asked me how serious I was. I said, it had been a joke, but of all people, I could easily see us doing it. One thing led to another, and here we are. A few months away from buying us an RV and hitting the road as a full-timing, homeschooling, family of four (plus 2 cats).

We're nervous, excited, scared, worried, ecstatic and a little sad. We'll be leaving behind our families, whom we have always lived no more than 10 minutes away from, we'll be leaving behind some of the greatest friends we have ever had as well. We'll be leaving behind a homeschooling community our eldest daughter has grown to trust, respect, and enjoy. We'll be leaving behind businesses we've always relied on, healthcare professionals we've always gone to and in general a community that has been home to my husband for 30 years and over 10 years for me.

On the other hand, we will be reunited as a family and never torn apart ever again. My eldest daughter will hopefully go back to being the little sweetheart she was before her daddy left, and our youngest daughter (age 19 months), will finally get to know her daddy. It is hard on our first born and confusing for our second. It's agony for me and challenging at best for my Husband.

I can't wait to bring you all along on our new upcoming journey. It will be fun and adventurous and even challenging at times, but we will be together and together we will chart a new course all our own.
